Terms of Use & Legal Notice

1. About Auralis
Auralis (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is software provided by Auralis as a local media player. The App scans and plays audio files already stored on your device. The App does not stream music from the internet, does not provide a music catalogue, and does not upload your files to any server controlled by Auralis.
2. No Ownership of Music
Auralis does not own, license, sell, distribute, or claim any rights in any music, recordings, artwork, lyrics, artist names, album titles, or other content you play through the App. All such content remains the property of its respective owners (artists, labels, publishers, and other rights holders).
Album artwork, metadata, and file names displayed in the App are taken from files on your device or from your device’s media index. Displaying this information does not imply any affiliation, endorsement, or licensing relationship with any artist or company.
3. Your Responsibility
By using Auralis, you represent and agree that:
- You will only use audio files you have the legal right to possess and play.
- You are solely responsible for how you obtain, copy, store, and use music on your device.
- You will not use the App to infringe copyright, neighbouring rights, trademarks, or any other intellectual property rights.
- You will comply with all applicable laws in your country or region.
- You will comply with the terms of service of any third-party platform (including Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, or others) if you obtain files through them.
4. No Affiliation
Auralis is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spotify, Apple, Google, YouTube, any record label, or any artist unless explicitly stated in writing. All third-party names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
5. Planned Features (Including Spotify)
The website may reference future features such as downloading tracks from Spotify. Any such feature, if released, would be a user-initiated tool operating on the user’s device. Auralis does not provide copyrighted music and does not encourage or assist copyright infringement.
You agree that you will not use any current or future App feature to download, rip, or save content in violation of Spotify’s terms, copyright law, or any other applicable agreement. You assume full responsibility for any use of planned or future functionality.
6. Free Software — “As Is”
Auralis is provided free of charge on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Auralis shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business, arising from or related to your use of the App or this website — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event shall Auralis’s total liability exceed the amount you paid for the App (which is zero, as the App is free).
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Auralis from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App or website; (b) audio files on your device; (c) your violation of these terms; or (d) your violation of any law or third-party rights.
9. Privacy
Auralis is designed to work offline. Listening statistics and preferences are stored locally on your device. Auralis does not operate a central server that collects your music library or playback history.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App or website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Acceptance
By clicking Download, installing the APK, opening the App, or selecting I Agree inside the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and Legal Notice.
If you do not agree, do not download, install, or use Auralis.
